Well this cartoon featured in the most rented VHS of my (early) childhood. (An early 80’s Disney Halloween compilation) I can’t even begin to explain its importance. It frightened the fuck out of me on several levels and truly excited me. It was played in segments after each cartoon and the only thing I looked forward to. Thank god it’s moving around here.
I have this irrational fear that paintbrushes will be unavailable in the future or most will be made poorly. It gets me down. Probably wouldn’t have this fear if I lived in Japan.
GOLD BLOOD, MAGIC WEIRDOS is happening in this moment, Backwoods Gallery, Collingwood, Melbourne. Go there if you can! This has been an intense pleasure to have been a part of and a major highlight of my year thus far, being shown alongside the ones bleeding the boisterous and beautiful bloods of the Now times. I’m not there but I’ve projected myself into an empty whiskey bottle somewhere in this shot ( thanks to Sean Morris for the photo! )
